PATHANAMTHITTA: There was every reason to suspect that the Communist Party of India (Marxist) was behind the violence at Koyilandy, Nadapuram and Kasaragod, P.K. Kunhalikutty, State general secretary of Indian Union Muslim League, said on Saturday. Mr. Kunhalikutty was delivering the keynote address at a State leadership camp of the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) at Charalkunnu here. He alleged that the intolerance of the CPI(M) led to the violence in Kasaragod immediately after the drubbing it received at the hands of the United Democratic Front in the Assembly byelections. Poll outcomeThe recent poll outcome exposed the erosion in mass base of the CPI(M) in West Bengal and Kerala, the IUML leader said. Sebastian Paul, former MP; P.K. Feroz, MSF State president; M.A. Samad, general secretary; and K.M. Shaji, Muslim Youth League State president, also spoke. M.K. Muneer, former Minister, will address the valedictory function on Sunday.
