Girl of Indian origin attacked by mugger

LONDON: A two-year-old British girl of Indian origin was punched on the face by a mugger after her mother refused to give up her handbag.

The incident took place on a busy road at Slough, Berkshire, on Friday, when Maria Sharma, 28, was taking her twins, Paris and Sunny, in a pram. Ms. Sharma was suddenly attacked by a man who tried to snatch her handbag, dangling from the pushchair.

She described the attacker as “looking possessed,” Daily Mail reported.

When she fought back, he crouched down and punched Paris on the face. Again he tried to flee with Ms. Sharma’s handbag, but its strap got caught in the pushchair’s handle. — PTI
