Collector distributes Rs. 22-lakh assistance

KARUR: District Collector J. Uma Maheswari disbursed welfare assistance worth Rs. 22.29 lakh to a total of 109 identified beneficiaries at a function held at Thavuttupalayam village in Nanjai Pugalur panchayat in Karur district recently.
“Utilise schemes”
Speaking on the occasion, she advised the villagers to effectively make use of the various welfare schemes of the State Government such as marriage assistance for women, aid for pregnant women, girl child protection scheme and above all enrol for the Kalaignar’s Insurance Scheme for Life Saving Treatments.
Karur Panchayat Union chairperson Valarmathi Chidambaram, Nanjai Pugalur Panchayat president Mallika Kandasamy, Tahsildar Dharmaraj and others participated in the function.
