Minister commissions new TNEB sub-station near Tirupur

Tirupur: Minister for Highways and Minor Ports M. P. Saminathan commissioned a Rs. 6.85-crore new sub-station established by Tamil Nadu Electricity Board at Muthur near here on Friday.
TNEB Executive Engineer R. Thangavel said that the sub-station, having two transformers each with a capacity of 10,000 KVA, would cater to the power needs of 18 villages.
“At present, the sub-station will be providing about 20 high tension, 35 low tension-current transformer (LT-CT) service connections and 300 low tension connections,” he added.
Mr. Thangavel said that a new sub-station would be commissioned at Periyar Nagar in Vellakoil at Rs 7.5 crore next financial year.
“The sub-station will have two transformers of 10,000 KVA capacity each,” he added. Similarly, a transformer of 500 KVA capacity would be commissioned at Dasanaickenpatti soon to improve the electricity supply to 13 villages engulfing the installation.
Collector C. Samayamoorthy, TNEB Chief Engineer N. Sankar and TNEB Superintending Engineer K. P. Shanmugam were present.
