Declare polling day as holiday: TDP

Telugu Desam Party on Saturday made a request to the State Election Commission to issue instructions to declare November 23, the polling day, as a holiday for the offices of Government of India and its undertakings in the limits of GHMC.

Thousands of Central government employees travel from distant places to their respective offices, and it will not be possible for them to exercise their franchise if the polling day is not declared a holiday, the Telugu Desam Party’s General Secretary Varla Ramaiah said through a press note.
