Officials briefed on Pulivendula byelection

KADAPA: The model code of conduct that has been force in Kadapa district since November 20 will be enforced till December 31 in view of the byelection to Pulivendula Assembly constituency slated for December 19, in-charge Collector M. Girijasankar said on Monday.

The bypoll was necessitated by the untimely demise of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in a helicopter crash two months ago. Candidates can file nominations up to Dec. 2, scrutiny will be done on December 3 and nominations can be withdrawn up to Dec. 5.
