KOLKATA: Uttar Pradesh won its fourth straight match in the Group ‘A’ league in the inter-State women’s under-19 cricket tournament at Kalyani on Monday. Uttar Pradesh beat Punjab by 81 runs to take five points and finish with 20 overall. Baroda came second with 12 points after beating Karnataka by four wickets. Assam topped Group ‘B’ league and Maharashtra finished second with 13 points after winning its final league game against Hyderabad by 31 runs. The scores: U.P. 226 for five in 50 overs (Bhawna Tomar 58, Neetu Singh 38, Poonam Yadav 38) bt Punjab 145 in 49.1 overs (Rewa Arora 77, Poonam Yadav four for 24). U.P. 5 points, Punjab minus 1. Karnataka 147 in 43.5 overs (V. Krishnamurty 57, Pooja Thakore three for 30, Tarannum Pathan three for 19) lost to Baroda 150 for six in 48.4 overs (Tarannum Pathan 75, S. Rameshwari three for 32). Baroda 4, Karnataka 0. Madhya Pradesh 209 for nine in 50 overs (Shweta Mishra 49, Versha Chaudhary 95; Anju Tomar three for 31) bt Haryana 175 for three in 50 overs (Anju Tomar 47, Pooja Sharma 52 n.o.). M.P. 4, Haryana 0.
