Madikeri: Farmers should take up organic farming by making use of cow-dung and cow urine, M.K. Janardhana of Cauvery Savayava Krishi Parivara said here on Tuesday.
He was addressing presspersons here. Mr. Janardhana, who has helped farmers to take up organic farming in eight farms in the country, said one kg of cow-dung contained 33 crore micro-organisms and it would aid the growth and yield of the plants by supplementing each other.
Organic farming would start with the preparation of seeds for sowing, initiating methods for micro-organisms to thrive, mulching and aeration methods during the process of making organic manure, Mr. Janardhana said.
