Yeddyurappa blames previous governments for power crisis

Staff Correspondent

VANTGODI (BAGALKOT DISTRICT): Expressing ire over the Statewide agitation by Janata Dal (Secular) workers against power cuts, Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has said that previous governments have to be blamed for the present power crisis.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for relocating Vantgodi village in Mudhol taluk of Bagalkot district on Tuesday.

The problem could not be solved overnight as previous governments had not taken any steps to enhance the power generation in accordance with the demand, he said.

The BJP Government had prepared strategies for enhancing power generation capacity of the State and the crisis would be permanently solved in the years to come, Mr. Yeddyurappa said. “Before commenting on the BJP Government, the Opposition parties should analyse what was their contribution for solving the power crisis,” he said. Mr. Yeddyurappa said that land-acquisition process for relocation of all flood-affected villages in the State was in full swing.
