Come clean on BGR Energy, TDP tells Congress

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: TDP district convener and Mylavaram MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Tuesday demanded that the Congress leadership in the State give an explanation to the people about the failure of BGR Energy company in executing the contract given for three thermal power plants and also the Government’s failure to provide nine-hour power supply to farmers.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Rao dared the Congress leaders to take on the BGR Energy and the AP Genco for failing to make the 500-MW seventh unit of Dr. Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station fully functional, which resulted in proper power supply not being ensured to the agricultural sector. Blasts and failures in the transformers in this unit were regularly happening but nobody from the Genco or the State came forward to take corrective steps.
