NEW DELHI: Four persons, including two school children, were killed in separate road accidents in the Capital on Tuesday.

According to the police, Nakul, his brother Arjun and friend Suraj were on their way to a marriage function on a motorcycle when he apparently lost balance on Pusa Road. The motorcycle skidded and fell under a Blueline bus plying on route 753. While Nakul succumbed to his injuries, the other two were admitted to hospital. The driver fled.

In a hit-and-run case, a Class III child, Anshu (9), was run over by a mini-truck when he was on his way to school in Narela around 7-30 a.m. His father Praveen, who was walking behind him, managed to note down the vehicle’s registration number. The police have launched a hunt for the driver.

In another accident, Salman Ansari (16), a Class XI student of a school in Darya Ganj, was killed when he fell from a moving DTC bus and was run over at Maujpur in the trans-Yamuna area around 7-45 a.m. The bus, plying on route 205, has been impounded and the driver, Kuldeep Singh, arrested. The victim’s schoolmate alleged that the driver pushed him out of the bus.

Anil Kumar (26), an Army functionary, was knocked down by a tanker when he came out of the Research and Referral Hospital on his motorcycle after getting his pregnant wife admitted there around 10-15 a.m. He succumbed to his injuries later, the police said.

The police have registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving and arrested the tanker driver, Gunakar Rai.
