Malleswaran passes away

BANGALORE: Veteran sports administrator P. Malleswaran died here on Monday night after a prolonged illness. He was 70.

Mr. Malleswaran, popularly known as ‘Mallesh’, was former secretary-general of the Karnataka Olympic Association and had also served as secretary of the State Athletic Association.

He was among the Karnataka officials who strove to make the 1997 National Games a big success. He also served as the sports officer of the Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (City Corporation).

The KOA, Volleyball Association and Sports Writers Association of Bangalore (SWAB) condoled his demise. — Special Correspondent
