Animation’s debut at IFFI

PANAJI: Animation and pixilation have made their debut at the ongoing IFFI 2009.A Retrospective of Indian Animation since 1956, curated by The Animation Society of India (TASI), which began here on Wednesday, was attended by two leading names in the industry, Bhimsen Khurana and maker of “Hanuman” V.G. Samant.
The TASI is not only showcasing 50 films produced in India but also various other special programmes to take animation to the broader spectrum of people who will be attending IFFI 2009.
Mr. Samant said India has only 500 trained animators and more are needed.
