Coimbatore: Officials from Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Food Cell CID police personnel raided the premises of a private Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distributor at Vadugapalayam in Palladam on November 20 and detected pilferage of subsidised domestic LPG by refilling them into commercial and private cylinders. Assistant Manager (Sales-LPG) of BPCL Kiran Kumar Kagitapu and Civil Supplies CID personnel said that the raid led to the detection of pilferage and seizure of four numbers of HPC full 14.2 kg weighing domestic cylinders, six numbers of private gas cylinders weighing 17 kg, one number of private gas cylinder weighing 12 kg, seven numbers of 14.2 kg weighing HPC empty cylinders, three numbers of BPCL cylinders weighing 19 kg. In this connection, the Civil Supplies CID police have registered a case against the private gas agency distributor under sections 3 (1) (C) and 4 (1) (a) of the LPG rules read with sections 7 (1) (a) (ii) of Essential Commodities Act of 1955.
