Hemant, Mohita triumph
NOIDA: Hemant Duggal and Mohita Sahdev won the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the fourth Pramod Mahajan memorial Delhi State-ranking badminton tournament at the Noida Sports Complex, Sector-21, on Thursday.
The finals in the boys’ under-16, under-13, under-10 were not played following a dispute about the age of the players concerned.
“We will go for another medical test, and the finals in these age groups may be played within a week,” said the chief referee, Sushil Bhatia.
The results (finals):
Men: Hemant Duggal bt Tanvir Gill 21-19, 21-17. Women: Mohita Sahdev bt Nidhi Tiwari 21-18, 21-15.
Boys: Under-19: Ashish Sharma bt Deepak Sharma 21-17, 21-16; Doubles: Prateek and Puneet bt Vikas and Surinder 21-19, 21-18.
Girls: Under-19: Shreya Aggarwal bt Nidhi Tiwari 21-17, 21-16; Doubles: Nidhi Tiwari and Shreya Aggarwal bt Grishma Anand and Shradha Srivastava 21-11, 21-9.
Under-16: Rashmeet Kaur bt Shambavi Bajaj 21-15, 18-21, 21-15; Doubles: Ananya Nagar and Deepisha Solanki bt Rajani and Yamini Kulesh 21-10, 21-12.
Under-13: Akanshi bt Kanika 21-17, 21-16.
