KOCHI: One person suffered bullet injuries in a suspected inter-gangster fight at Yogaparambu Road, Kumbalam on Thursday morning. Sources said that a five-member gang led by Vinod of Kochukadavanthra attacked the house of Peter alias Kunjumon at around 9.30 a.m. inthe morning . Peter’s sons Vinu and Sanu resisted the attack and Vinu hit Vinod on the head using the blunt end of a spade. Vinod reportedly fired from his country-made gun, hitting Kunjumon on the chest. Kunjumon has been admitted to the Medical Trust Hospital. Hospital sources said that his condition is stable. Taken into custodyThe police took into custody Vinod from near the Ernakulam General Hospital, and also his accomplices Sajeesh of Vidya Vihar Road, Thevara and Manoj alias Rajiv, residing near the Sacred Heart College, Thevara. Vinu too is reportedly in custody. A police team led by the Mattancherry Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Jacob is on the lookout for the other gang members. There are criminal cases pending against most of those involved in the attack and counter-attack, the Panangad police said.
