NAGERCOIL: The All India General Secretary of Viswa Hindu Parishad, Praveen Togadia, has urged the Government to take stringent action against those who slaughter cows. Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, he said that gone were the days when people of India worshipped cows. But now they slaughter cows. Bio-gas can be harnessed through the use of cow dung. Hence the Government should come forward to declare cow as the national animal. Viswa Mangala Gomatha Ratha Yathra was started with an intention to create awareness of the need to ban slaughter of cows among people.
