Transco clarifies on wind power tariff

HYDERABAD: Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APTransco) on Friday said that the Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) entered into by Central Power Distribution Company Limited (AP CPDCL) with five wind power developers were in compliance with the wind power tariff fixed by the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC).

Responding to a report published in these columns, APTransco stated that government had issued wind power policy announcing the price at Rs. 3.50 a unit for new units.

The wind power purchase tariff is fixed at Rs. 3.50 per unit for upcoming wind power projects that would enter into PPAs from May 1, 2009 to March 31, 2014
