DDA wins overall championship

NEW DELHI: Deepankar Das, Kavyashree Ranawat and Ridhi Chhajer were among those who were adjudged the ‘best athletes’ in their age groups as the three-day YMCA junior athletics meet concluded at the Central Secretariat ground here on Friday.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) won the overall team championship. Olympian Gurbachan Singh Randhawa was the chief guest and gave away the prizes.

The results (winners only): Boys: U-12: Best athlete: Jasbir. U-14: 600m: Deepankar Das 1:34.72. Best athlete: Deepankar Das. U-16: 800m: Parveen 2:09.93. Discus: Lovdeep Singh 29.26. Best athlete: Ishant Rana.U-18: 400m: Krishan Kumar 52.63. Long jump: Raj Kumar 6.07. Best athlete: Ashwini. U-20: 100m: Chandrakant 11.38. 800m: Naresh 2:07.44. High jump: Ritesh 1.95. Shot put: Sanjeev Rathi 15.07. Javelin: Arun 51.62. Best athlete: Rahul Singh.
