MANGALORE: The boy who was rescued by officials from an apartment complex in Attavar here on Thursday will be put through a medical test at the Government Wenlock Hospital to determine his age. Geo D’Silva, member of the district Child Welfare Committee, told The Hindu on Friday that all the procedures in the case were pending owing to the age determination test. The father of the boy, a daily wage earner from Davangere, visited the CWC office and demanded the boy’s release. However, the officials asked him to produce documents to show that he was indeed the boy’s biological parent. He was also asked to produce the boy’s birth certificate and his school leaving certificate before the CWC’s bench of magistrates on December 4. Meanwhile, Childline has allegedly not informed the CWC that another 15-year-old boy had been found in the same complex. Mr. D’Silva said that the CWC had not received any information about the other boy. He said that summons would be immediately sent to the alleged employers of the boy. A third girl aged 15 who was also found during Thursday’s operation in the house of a doctor couple was produced by the alleged employers before the CWC late the same evening.
