Stop supply orders: Family card holders can file petitions

Tirupur: The district administration on Thursday started receiving appeals from the ration card holders in the Kangayam and Dharapuram taluks and in the firkas of Uthukuli and Kunnathur under Avinashi taluk who had been issued ‘stop supply orders’.

The orders were issued in the case of consumers who were found absent at the residence indicated in the card during an enumeration drive recently conducted to weed out bogus family cards.

The forms for appeal could be procured from the respective fair price shops.

The filled-in applications could be submitted at the same outlets till December 26.

More details on filing of appeal petition could be obtained either in person or through telephone from the office of District Supply and Consumer Protection Officer (0421- 2218203) or from taluk supply officers at Avinashi (Tel: 9445000255), Kangayam(Tel: 9445000243) and Dharapuram (Tel: 9445000244).
