Innings victory for Tamil Nadu

VISAKHAPATNAM: Tamil Nadu scored an innings win over Kerala in the Vijay Merchant trophy South Zone under-16 tournament match here on Saturday.

Andhra batsmen applied themselves better while following on and set Hyderabad a target of 55, which the team reached losing two wickets.

The round-robin matches resume on Monday after two days of rest.

Goa 203 and 180 for four in 62 overs (Darshan Mishal 100 n.o., Srinivas Fadte 28) drew with Karnataka 324 for eight decl. in 104.3 overs (J. Suchit 74 n.o., S. Gopal 68, K.N. Bharath 42, Vijay Kumar 38, N. Selvaraj 27, S.S. Hula 25). Karnataka 3 points, Goa 1 point.

Kerala 88 and 124 in 55.2 overs (Iqlas Naha 35, Unni Mohan 31, Akakshram three for 32) lost to Tamil Nadu 327 for nine decl. Tamil Nadu 6, Kerala 0.

Hyderabad 314 and 55 for two in 16.3 overs (Abhishek Ashok 31) bt Andhra 94 and 274 in 101.4 overs (P. Srikrishna 54, Rajeev 42, G. Vikram Teja 40, K.S. Bharat 37, G. Syamsundar 32, V.L. Sashank four for 54). Hyderabad 5, Andhra 0.

At Guwahati : Assam 302 and 151 for five in 36.4 overs (Manpreet Singh 48, R. Momin Sarma 47) drew with Bengal 302 in 91.4 overs (Vivek Singh 62, Arjun Barman 56, Ravi Kant Singh 30, S.S. Barua three for 63).
