Three more swine flu deaths

New Delhi: Three more persons succumbed to swine flu on Saturday even as 139 fresh cases of the disease were reported across the country. Two deaths were reported from Delhi while the third was reported from Kerala, taking the total toll to 569, a Health Ministry official said.

Till Friday, samples from 86,015 people had been tested for swine flu across the country and 20.6 per cent of them were found positive.

“Of the total 111 positive cases of H1N1 influenza reported in the city on Saturday, 78 were of children. With this, the number of swine flu cases reported till date is 5,809,” Delhi Health Minister Kiran Walia said. So far, 21 people have died due to it in the city, she said. She said the situation was under control and the government was doing its best in providing treatment to H1N1 patients in government hospitals. — PTI
