KANUR: The Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala here is celebrating its first Navy Week after its inauguration by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on January 8 this year. The celebration is being held as part of the Navy Day that the Indian Navy observes every year on December 4 to commemorate the glorious role played by the Navy in the 1971 war. As part of the celebration, the INA was open to the public on Sunday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Various facilities at the Academy were shown to the public during the day. The event was meant to kindle the spirit of national service among the visitors, a press release issued by the INA here said.
