VIJAYAWADA: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) conducted a mega medical camp at New Rajarajewaripeta here on Sunday. The camp, which was organised to treat the patients suffering from viral fevers, malaria, typhoid and jaundice so on, was by and large ‘successful’ in its objectives. As many as 1,153 people from New Rajarajeswaripeta, which has a population of about 4,000 families, turned up to the camp that was organised from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Of this, blood samples of 158 persons were collected as the doctors suspected that they were suffering from malaria or viral fevers. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) members, general physician Sheik Muneer, children specialist P. Anil Kumar and orthopaedist A S Rao, screened the people.
