Letters to the Editor
First, you buy a cute pair of shoes. Then systematically chop your legs to fit them in. Praveen Swami’s article “Where style has trumped substance” (Nov. 27) gives a shocking revelation of the complacency with which the issue of modernisation of the Mumbai police force has been handled. Lack of training will render modern equipment a liability in times of need. The problem of a dismal pay structure for the officers and men fighting terrorists risking their lives needs to be addressed at the earliest. Seby Kuriyan, Thiruvananthapuram
