NEW DELHI: The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for phase-II of the Jharkhand Assembly elections on Wednesday. Polling will be held between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. in 14 constituencies: Tamar (ST), Silli, Khijri (ST), Mandar (ST), Gomia, Gandey, Giridih, Dumri, Barhi, Barkagaon, Mandu, Ramgarh, Kodarma and Khunti (ST). As many as 259 candidates including 15 women are in the fray. A total of 30,96,854 voters including 14,61,848 women are eligible to exercise their franchise at 4,315 polling stations. The Commission originally planned to hold the polls in 15 constituencies, but the election in Barkatha in Hazaribagh district was adjourned after the death of BJP candidate Chitranjan Yadav.
