Fencing competition winners

HOSUR: Students of John Bosco Girls Higher Secondary School, Hosur bagged 19 medals, including 12 gold, in the fencing competitions at the Republic Day sports events held in Tirunelveli.
Anjela Mary, Correspondent, told ‘The Hindu’ on Wednesday that she had given more thrust to bring out the inherent sports talent among the children studying in the school from poor families.
The competitions were held between the schools in 15 education districts and two Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu-run hostels.
The participants from the school bagged the prizes in under-14, under-17 and under-19 categories, said Sister Saleth Mary, Headmistress and K.S. Kannan, Physical Education teacher.
