Three short-term training programmes

TIRUCHI: The State Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (SIHMCT) will offer three short-term training programmes with financial assistance from the Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation.

The programmes would be offered in Food Production, Bakery and Confectionary (both of three months duration) and Food and Beverage Service (two months). The training would commence on December 5, according to a press release from L.V. Kumar, Principal, SIHMCT.

Candidates, in the age group of 18 to 35, with a pass in SSLC, are eligible to apply for the programmes.

The training would be conducted on the SIHMCT campus and the trainees would be offered an monthly assistance of Rs.1,000 by the TAHDCO. They will also be offered an assistance of Rs.1,500 towards uniforms. Trainees should have 90 per cent attendance to get the monthly assistance. Those who have already undergone the training programmes sponsored by government agencies or TAHDCO are not eligible to apply for the courses. Interviews for selecting the candidates would be held on the SIHMCT campus between 10 and 5 p.m. from December 1 to 3.

Those who wish to join the courses should appear for the interviews along with relevant certificates, family cards and two passport size photographs, the release added.
