Woods regrets transgression

LONDON: Tiger Woods admitted he had let his family down on Wednesday when he spoke candidly for the first time about last week’s car crash and the subsequent speculation about his private life.

“I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behaviour my family deserves,” Woods said on his website ( www.tigerwoods.com )

“Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means.” — Reuters
