BHUBANESWAR: Teachers and employees of Block Grant Secondary Schools, who were beaten by police black and blue in capital city recently, here on Thursday announced to revive their agitation from December 7. This time the association decided to involve students and parents in the agitation in order to present their viewpoints emphatically. “Since 2007, we have been repeatedly ventilating our grievances to the State government, but every effort of ours has gone in vain. We want total abolition of block grant system from education sector,” said Prasanta Kumar Mohapatra, president of the association, addressing a press conference here. Pointing out that rampage on agitators by Bhubaneswar Police had shocked the entire teachers’ community.
