Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: After failing to obtain bail in a lower court, the Superintendent of Police, Kolar, who was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta officials while accepting bribe, on Friday petitioned the Karnataka High Court for grant of bail. The Lokayukta officials had trapped Superintendent of Police K.P. Puttaswamy, on November 27, 2009 when he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000 from a constable for doing a favour.
The Superintendent of Police had moved for bail before a lower court in Kolar which was rejected.
The police officer then moved the High Court for bail. Justice Huluvadi G. Ramesh adjourned further hearing of the case.
