Regional Passport Office fined for delay

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (CDCRF) has slapped a fine of Rs.10,000 and Rs.1,000 towards cost of litigation on the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Chennai, for inordinate delay in issuing a passport to D. Nisha Ferona Mary of Kavundampalayam. The case came up for hearing before the President of the Forum, S.A. Sree Ramulu, and Member K. Rathinam.

It concluded that the passport was processed and dispatched only on receipt of the legal notice.
