The rider is that his relatives should foot the bill for his Hepatitis–C infection HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) told the court here on Friday that it did not have objection to further hospitalisation of former chief of Satyam Computers B. Ramalinga Raju, if his relatives were willing to meet the expenditure for treatment of his Hepatitis–C infection at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS). However, the CBI apprehended that Mr. Raju might use laptops and influence the witnesses in the fraud case during his stay in hospital. The agency sought that visitors to Mr. Raju should be restricted at the hospital. In-patient treatmentThe court heard the argument of CBI while cross examining the head of gastroenterology department of NIMS Ajit Kumar who recommended in-patient treatment for Mr. Raju at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences. The doctor informed the court that admission of Mr. Raju to the hospital was needed for six to eight weeks initially and his extended stay in hospital depended upon the progress of treatment and the patient’s response to treatment. The court reserved orders on the arguments for Saturday.
