PALAKKAD: The second K.P.S. Menon Memorial Award will be presented to T.K.A. Nair, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, at a function at Ottapalam on December 27 by Uthradam Thirunal Marthanda Varma, scholar and philanthropist. P.T. Narendra Menon, Vice Chairman of the Sri Chettur Sankaran Nair Trust, which instituted the award, said that Mr. Nair had fulfilled several assignments at the highest echelons of administration. As part of the award ceremony a four-day long music and dance festival would be organised. The inaugural function on December 27 will be followed by Carnatic vocal concert by Papanasam Ashok Ramani. There will be a Bharathanatyam performance by Kirti Ramgopal. On December 28, Ulthaya T. Venu will give a Hindustani bansuri concert. It will be followed by Mohiniyattam by Vinitha Nedungadi. Carnatic vocal concert by Abhiram Unni will be on December 29, followed by ‘Sangeeth Samanvay’ by Vani Vivek and Kuchipudi by Prasheeja Gopinath. On the concluding day, December 30, Sagarika Pradhan will give a Hindustani concert. Odissi recital by Arushi Mudgal will follow.
