MSP announced
Kakinada: The State government has announced the following minimum support price (MSP) per quintal for 2009-10 kharif marketing season:
Red gram – Rs. 3,500, green gram – Rs. 2,760, black gram – Rs. 2,520, groundnut – Rs. 2,100, sunflower seed – Rs. 2,215, sesame – Rs. 2,850, paddy (ordinary) Rs. 1,000 (MSP Rs. 950 and bonus Rs. 50), paddy (Grade-A) – Rs. 1,030 (MSP Rs. 980 and bonus Rs. 50), jowar (ordinary) – Rs. 860, jowar (hybrid) – Rs. 840 and bajra – Rs. 840.
The above prices are for fair average quality crops. Farmers can bring to the notice of Joint Collector K. Sasidhar or to the District Civil Supplies Office (phone no. 0884-2378461) if the millers/traders paid them less than the stipulated prices, a statement said.
