Housing Minister Silpa Mohan Reddy addressing a meeting after inaugurating IHSDP Phase-I housing colony on Saturday. — Rajahmundry: Minister for Housing Silpa Mohan Reddy has said that the government finalised 28 locations in the State to construct houses under Rajiv Swagruha scheme. The tender process has been completed at 22 places. Land-related issues are creating problems in six places, including Rajahmundry. YSR’s dreamAddressing mediapersons and a public meeting after inaugurating Phase-I of G + 2 houses constructed under the Integrated Housing Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) at a cost of Rs.1.3 crores, Mr. Reddy said that the government’s aim was to make the State free of huts and realise the dream of the former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy by 2014. Rajiv Gruhakalpa houses were being constructed at eight places in Rajahmundry under IHSDP under which each house would cost Rs.1.15 lakhs. Of it, the Centre would pay Rs.64,000, the State Rs. 41 ,000 and beneficiary would have to bear Rs.10,000. He said that the interest would be waived on Rajiv Swagruha old loans soon, and added that the G.O. had already been issued in this regard. Minister for Social Welfare Pilli Subashchandra Bose, MP Vundavalli Aruna Kumar, MLA R. Suryaprakasha Rao, Mayor A. Veeraraghavamma and others spoke. ZP Chairman Ch. Venugopalakrishna, Housing Superintendent Sriramulu and Project Director G. Satyanarayana participated.
