December is the Crime Prevention Month Hubli: Additional Director-General of Police (Crime and Technical Services) Om Prakash has said select police personnel would be honoured during the “Crime Prevention Month” being observed in December. In recognition of good work done by police personnel, some of them will be given away cash prizes. Addressing presspersons after reviewing the progress of crime detection and recovery in Hubli-Dharwad on Saturday, Mr. Om Prakash said police personnel would be given individual prizes and team prizes in recognition of their contribution to solve cases of crime. A total of Rs. 44.50 lakh has been released for the purpose, he said. During the month,, the progress made in solving criminal cases and recovery of valuables will be assessed. Besides, special training in crime detection techniques would be held for police personnel. And, police personnel who had done good work would be identified and rewarded, he added. Mr. Om Prakash said steps would be initiated for prevention of crime and awareness would be created among the public to take measures to avoid becoming victims of crime.
