Worms found in midday meal

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: Worms were reportedly found in the midday meal served to children at a government school in Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, a slum near Nandini Layout, on Saturday.

The parent of one of the students found worms in the meal she had carried home.

Following this, the school authorities threw away the remaining food, which is supplied to the school by the Adamya Chetana Trust.

Veda Vyasa Bhat, a trustee of Adamya Chetana, denied the allegations and said the food was cooked in supervised, hygienic conditions.

Chandrayya, DDPI of Bangalore North, said he would direct the Block Education Officer concerned to probe the incident and submit the report to the Commissioner of Public Instruction.
