KADAPA: Yeduguri Sandinti Vijayalakshmi, 53, who will make her debut in the State Legislative Assembly by her unanimous election from Pulivendula constituency on Saturday, becomes the fourth member of the family of her husband and former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to represent Pulivendula. Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy was elected MLA of Pulivendula for six terms, his brother Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy for two terms and his paternal uncle Dr. S. Purushotham Reddy for one term. The family had been representing Pulivendula Assembly constituency since 1978. Ms. Vijayalakshmi succeeded her husband in the by-election following his demise in a helicopter crash on September 2. Born in Putlur village in Yadiki mandal in Anantapur district, Ms. Vijayalakshmi studied up to SSC and was a housewife. She passed SSC from Zilla Parishad High School at Pulivendula in 1970 and was married to Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in 1971. Her son Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy is Kadapa Lok Sabha member and daughter Sharmila is a housewife. She owns movable assets worth of Rs. 1,62,51,727 and immovable assets worth of Rs. 39,51,955, according to an affidavit filed by her before the Returning Officer of Pulivendula.
