Man posing as police official held

COIMBATORE: A man posing as a top level police official has been arrested by the city police.

P. Vedanayagam (33) of Dindigul was arrested from a resort at Telungupalayam in the city on Saturday after a windmill owner, Lawrence, lodged a complaint of cheating against him.

Police sources here said that Vedanayagam had been staying in the resort for close to a month, claiming he was the Additional Director General of Police of the Special Commando Force of the Border Security Force in Jammu and Kashmir.

Lawrence alleged that Vedanayagam had tried to cheat him in a property-related matter.
