NEW DELHI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has announced a per-second billing plan for post-paid customers, where registration for new connections is being offered free. Security deposit for the new post-paid connection has been reduced from Rs.1, 000 to Rs.500.

Lot of freebies

“BSNL has introduced per second pulse in the post-paid plan, where apart from local and STD, ISD calls will be available on per second pulse. Similarly, in another plan we offer 15 sec pulse and lot of freebies in voice, SMS, data and roaming minute, in addition to free calls worth Rs.350 for our corporate customers,” Chairman and Managing Director Kuldeep Goyal said.

Two unlimited plans have also been devised to meet the needs of high-end customers where unlimited usage is allowed for on-net local calls, STD calls, night calling, local SMS and GPRS. In addition to the cheaper call rates, additional facilities of reduced rate call on two BSNL local numbers at 20 paise per minute and night calling at 50 per cent of the normal call charges are allowed. A customer can have one rent free add-on connection for a family member, to which all calls made from the main number and vice versa will be free.

Mr. Goyal said the 3G post-paid plans were made more affordable and attractive. The customer had to pay only Rs.25 per month over and above the existing 2G rental for availing himself of 3G facilities like video calling, high speed data and mobile TV.

Roaming charges

“The roaming charges under post-paid plans have been reduced substantially so that the customers on roaming can now make voice calls without worrying about higher roaming charges. With the reduction in roaming charges, the outgoing call will be at par with the normal calls made from the home circle.”
