PUDUCHERRY: A middle aged woman from Marakkanam was arrested on Sunday for stealing a five-day-old baby girl from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research. Based on a complaint given by the mother of the child, police arrested the woman from her residence. The baby was recovered and handed over to its mother, police said. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody. Police said the accused did not have a baby and was undergoing treatment at JIPMER.
