Rajanagaram: Rajahmundry MP Vundavalli Aruna Kumar said that medical profession carries good regard in the society and it is the responsibility of the doctors to keep that integrity for a long time.
Addressing GSL Medical College’s 7th College Day celebrations on Sunday, he said that late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who himself was doctor, honoured the profession as well as took the corporate hospitals to the door steps of poor. He asked the medical students to think about rural poor and have a desire to serve in Agency and interior rural areas.
Rowthu Suryaprakasha Rao, MLA, Rajahmundry, said that ‘Arogyasri’, the brainchild of late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and 108 services were taken widely to common man because of Reddy. He said that like all professions, medical profession is also facing some criticism on the grounds of relation between patient and doctor and it is the responsibility of the young medicos to see that they should maintain professional ethics.
Rajanagaram MLA Pendurthi Venkatesh, Chairman of GSL Medical College Dr. Ganni Bhaskar Rao, Directors Madhu Froma, Dr. Sarat Kumar, Rmakrishna, Principal Dr. Y.V. Sarma, Vice-Principal Dr. Uday Kiran and others participated in the valedictory function.
On Saturday, Annual Cultural Celebrations were held in which film artist and comedian Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam and others participated.
