Complete works ahead of schedule, Stalin tells officials

CHENNAI: Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday advised officials of various agencies including the Tamil Nadu Water Supply And Drainage Board, the Chennai Corporation and the Chennai Metrowater to complete works ahead of schedule.

Chairing a meeting of officials at the Secretariat to review various works in different parts of the State, he said that the works be speeded up and projects commissioned.

Review of projects

Mr. Stalin reviewed the progress of construction of bridges and vehicular subways, desalination plants at Minjur and Nemmeli, Hogenakkal Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project, and restoration of Adyar Poonga.

A discussion on the operation of the Ramanathapuram combined drinking water supply scheme and ways to overcome challenges faced was also held.
