Hotel set afire at Panama crossroads

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Ten persons had a miraculous escape when suspected TRS supporters set a hotel afire at Panama crossroads on Saturday midnight.

Six activists came on motorcycles and sprinkled petrol on the hotel constructed with asbestos sheets and fled the scene raising slogans in support of Telangana. Noticing flames, a worker broke open the exhaust fan in the kitchen, came out and opened its door rescuing nine persons trapped in a room.

A mob hurled stones on a RTC bus at Panama crossroads and ATM centre at Vanasthalipuram.

Miscreants also tried to set fire to the sub-registrar’s office at Bairamalguda. Police said the same group could have been involved in all these incidents.
