CHENNAI: B. Brindhaa with 5.5 points out of 6 won the under-9 girls’ title in the Chennai district selection chess tournament which ended don Sunday. Nearly 140 players took part in the u-9 and u-13 categories, 20 of them international rated players. The top two players from each category will represent the District in the forthcoming State championship.
The final placings: U-9: Girls: 1. B. Brindhaa (Pon Vidyasharam) 5.5/6; 2. R. Arthika (Jawahar Vidyalaya) 5.5; 3. B. Jegatha (SBOA) 5; Boys: 1. Sathvick Sudarsan (Bala vidyamandir) 6/7; .2. K.
