Kumaraswamy to take out padayatra

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Sunday said that he will take out a padayatra in the villages where lands had been acquired for the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) Project contrary to the originally conceived plan.

Talking to media persons in Bangalore on Sunday on the sidelines of Peoples’ Court movement organised by Bhoo Swadhina Virodhi Vedke-Karnataka to expose alleged illegalities in the project, he said that it is unfortunate that the governments in the State have effected changes in the project contrary to court orders.

He said that his party will organise protests in villages between Bangalore and Mysore coming under the project.

It is because of the alleged illegalities the project has not moved on even 14 years after the agreement was signed with the private company, Mr. Kumaraswamy said.
