For a glimpse: Devotees waiting to ascend the ‘pathinettampady’ at the Lower Tirumuttom of Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple on Monday. Sabarimala witnessed an unprecedented rush on Monday evening, forcing the police to block the pilgrims at Pampa to regulate their flow onto the trekking path, thereby avoiding congestion at the hillock. The National Disaster Response Force personnel too joined the police in crowd control at the Lower Tirumuttom.
