CSI, Little Flower triumph

Coimbatore: CSI Polytechnic College and Little Flower HSS (Salem) won the team titles for polytechnic colleges and schools respectively in the BAT Trophy football tournament here on Sunday.

The results:

Schools: Final: Little Flower HSS (Salem) 2 bt Carmel Garden MHSS (Coimbatore) 1. Colleges: Final: CSI 3 bt Ruthraveni 1.

Easy for RKS

RKS Cricket Academy defeated Suryabala Cricketers by 10 wickets in the TNCA-CDCA first division league on Sunday.

In the second division league, Murali (106) and left-arm spinner Suresh (seven for 36) starred in Rainbow Jeeva CC’s handsome 192-run win over Friends RC.

The scores:

First division: Cosmo Village SA 153 in 45.3 overs (Vijayakumar 33, S. Huzefa four for 20, V. Sudhakar three for 17) bt Arumugam XI Patriots 108 in 34.5 overs (N. Gopinath 35 not out, A.Y. Streejan three for 21).

Suryabala Cricketers 93 in 36.4 overs (S.R. Karthikeyan four for 25, R. Karthick three for 22) lost to RKS CA 100 for no loss in 18.5 overs (C.R. Kirubasankar 55 not out, Vikram 36 not out).

Second division: Rainbow Jeeva 307 for eight in 50 overs (Murali 106, Anand 74, Nithin 40, Sivakumar three for 61) bt Friends RC 115 in 30 overs (Suresh seven for 36).

Surendran in two finals

At Erode, three-time champion S. Surendran scored comfortable wins to enter the final in both the singles and doubles in the seventh district-ranking snooker tournament on Sunday.

Singles: S. Surendran bt Murugesh 4-0; D. Chetan bt Dinesh 4-1. Doubles: S. Surendran & Chetan bt Murali & Srinivasan 3-0; Umakanth & Easwaramoorthy bt Saravanan & Thirumurugan 3-2.

Triple for Vikashini

Vikashini of Coimbatore clinched a triple title in the Tamil Nadu sub-junior State ranking badminton tournament in Thindal recently.

Wills CC wins

At Krishnagiri, Wills CC scored a 16-run win over MGR College CC in the TNCA-KDCA first division league recently.

The scores: First division: Wills 216 in 43 overs (Ramesh 46) bt MGR College 200 in 41.3 overs (Santhosh Kumar 63).

Second division: Pannandur 107 in 25 overs lost to Renaissance Grand 108 for six in 19.2 overs.

Ashok Leyland 124 in 25 overs (Sivaprakash 45) bt TVS 82 in 21.2 overs (Ramesh five for 10).
